Meet returning Stagebound participant, Sarah Fernandez!

Sarah Fernandez is entering her third year at NYU Tisch School of Arts, where she studies Musical Theatre in The New Studio on Broadway. Theatre Credits Include: In the Heights (Nina), Kiss Me, Kate (Lilli Vanessi), How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (Rosemary Pilkington), Grease (Sandy), and Xanadu (Hera), and Fiddler on the Roof (Hodel). Alongside theatre, Sarah has also worked on many cabaret and solo performances at many esteemed locations in New York City, including numerous appearances at The Metropolitan Room (under the direction of acclaimed Broadway pianist, Darius Frowner) and The Marc A. Scorca Hall at The National Opera Center of America (under the direction of Karen Parks and Michael McElroy). In 2013, Sarah had the honor of performing with former Broadway Phantom of the Opera, Ciaran Sheehan, at the 2013 Annual Gala to Benefit to Postpartum Resource Center of New York. This past May, Sarah had the honor of performing in “Stagebound Presents: A Benefit Concert,” alongside the immensely talented Stagebound students and faculty. This summer, Sarah is thrilled to be making her solo cabaret debut in her show, “Once Upon a Time,” at The Duplex in NYC. When she’s not performing, Sarah finds passion and creative expression in writing and composing. Sarah is currently working on two original musicals: Detention: The Musical (Book, Music, and Lyrics) and The List (Book and Lyrics). Sarah’s most recent work, The Wicked Bitch of the West (Book and Concept), was performed at the New Studio on Broadway’s Free Play Festival this past January. Aside from these projects, Sarah is also currently working on writing and self-recording an album of original music, which she is hoping to complete within the next year. Sarah is absolutely thrilled to be back for another wonderful summer with Stagebound and cannot wait to get started!www.sarahannefernandez.com
